Truro Sinfonia

For more than three years, Truro Sinfonia has been rehearsing and creating beautiful music at Truro School. Every Wednesday evening during term time, members gather in the school’s music rooms, beginning with sectional rehearsals before coming together for a full orchestral rehearsal.

Founded in 1996, Truro Sinfonia is an amateur orchestra that plays for enjoyment and performs locally several times each year.

This summer marks an exciting new chapter for the orchestra, as rehearsals move into Truro School’s new Music Centre and Event Space. The group is looking forward to exploring the outstanding facilities the new centre has to offer.

Truro Sinfonia warmly welcomes new members, particularly string and brass players. Although auditions are not required, players should be of a reasonable standard. Those interested in hearing the orchestra perform can attend their next concert on Sunday 28 June at Kea Church at 7.30pm. The programme will feature Emilie Mayer’s Overture No. 2 in D Major, Andrew Wilson’s Cornish Concerto for Oboe with soloist Tamsin Robinson, and Schubert’s Symphony No. 6 in C Major.

Further information about the orchestra can be found on their website: www.trurosinfonia.co.uk
