If you are looking for group accommodation in Truro, Cornwall, Truro School offers four spacious and well-equipped boarding houses available for short-term hire. Perfect for corporate residential bookings, sports teams, performing arts groups, educational trips and large family gatherings, our properties combine central convenience with welcoming communal living.
Located within walking distance of Truro city centre, Truro Cathedral, Hall for Cornwall, the bus station (0.3 miles) and train station (0.9 miles), our boarding houses provide accessible, centrally located group stays in Cornwall.
For added convenience, we can provide high-quality in-house catering from the school’s main dining hall for breakfast, lunch and dinner upon request — ideal for residential groups and organised events.
All houses offer a combination of single, twin and triple bedrooms, shared bathroom facilities and generous communal areas. Each property includes:

Essential supplies (toilet roll, cleaning sprays, kitchen roll, hand soap, towels, washing up liquid, sponges, bin bags and liners)

Trennick is the largest of our boarding houses, located in the heart of the main campus. Ideal for large group bookings in Cornwall, it offers generous shared spaces designed for socialising and relaxing together.

Bathrooms are communal and include:

Poltisco House is a beautiful 18th-century Georgian property in a quiet yet central location, just a 5-minute walk from Truro Cathedral and the city centre.
Sleeping up to 10 guests across five generous bedrooms, Poltisco is ideal for families or smaller groups exploring Cornwall’s north and south coasts.

Situated in a detached property within the calm of the school grounds, Malvern offers comfort, colour and practicality for residential groups.
Facilities Include:
Wi-Fi, smart TV, PS4, piano, guitars, board games, books, central heating, American-style fridge/freezer, coffee machine, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, long dining table and a dedicated workspace with five computers.
The living room includes two three-seater sofas, one two-seater sofa, a chair and bean bags, along with direct access to the kitchen and courtyard — creating a large, sociable space for entertaining.
The courtyard features tables, chairs and bean bags for relaxing on warm evenings.
Bathrooms are communal with showers, toilets and sinks. Heated towel rails are provided. Bath mats and towels can be provided on request.
Each bedroom contains a bed, wardrobe, lamp, mirror, desk, chair and waste bin. All bedrooms have a window, with some providing views over the city and towards the stunning cathedral.
Accessibility Note:
Bedrooms are arranged over three floors with low ceilings on the top floor and multiple staircases. This house is not suitable for guests with accessibility requirements.
Pentreve offers 7 well-equipped bedrooms in a detached building with its own private green garden, mature trees and generous outdoor space.

Located within walking distance of Truro city centre, our accommodation provides easy access to shops, restaurants, cafés and public transport, making it an excellent base for exploring Cornwall without a car. Set within tranquil school grounds, guests can enjoy a quieter setting away from the hustle and bustle, with the added benefit of on-site parking.

Pentreve Lodge is a spacious maisonette set within the landscaped grounds of Truro School, offering a peaceful retreat just moments from the heart of Truro. Ideal for families and small groups visiting Cornwall, this characterful property combines historic charm with comfortable modern living, with beautiful views across the city. The property is arranged across three floors and forms part of Truro School’s original boarding house, which opened in 1930. The first floor features a bright kitchen and dining area alongside a comfortable lounge with views across Truro, providing an inviting space to relax and socialise. A family bathroom with both a bath and shower is also located on this floor.
The second floor offers a spacious double bedroom with room for a cot, alongside a charming single bedroom with a pull-out trundle bed. The trundle bed provides additional flexibility for families, although space in the single bedroom is limited when both beds are in use. Alternatively, the trundle bed can be moved into the main bedroom if preferred. An additional shower room is also located on this floor.
Guests have exclusive access to the entire maisonette through its own private entrance. Although there is no private garden, the surrounding grass lawns are available for guests to enjoy, and a small table and chairs are provided at the front of the property.
Located within the grounds of Truro School, Pentreve Lodge is available exclusively during school holidays. With Truro’s shops, restaurants and cafés just a short distance away, and public transport links nearby, it provides a convenient base for exploring Cornwall without the need for a car.
Please note that pets are not permitted. An internal door within the property is reserved for fire escape use only and does not provide access to the rest of the building.
