Business Breakfast at Truro School

The Truro School Business Breakfast is a termly networking event in Truro, hosted by Truro School Enterprises, bringing together local business leaders, professionals and school connections for an inspiring morning of networking, guest speakers and refreshments.

Held once a term, the Business Breakfast attracts around 50 attendees from across the local business community, providing an informal yet purposeful environment to build relationships, share ideas and gain practical insight from experienced speakers.

Wellbeing Business Breakfast

Friday 26 June 2026 – 8am-9.30am

The theme this term will be wellbeing, and we are delighted to be joined during the morning by:

Speakers: 
Ross Jackson Hicks – Founder and Director of men’s mental health charity Man Down, who offer men a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space to talk about their mental health issues and concerns, with a number one aim to reduce the male suicide rate. Having faced his own challenges, he has now dedicated himself to supporting others through theirs.

Lisa Telfer-Brunton – Managing Director of Cornwall Pride. Lisa has been part of the Pride journey in Cornwall for almost five years and brings a huge amount of insight into the work, the community, and what Pride means beyond the events themselves and around the conversation of campaigning. She also sits on the Climate Commission and is a trustee for Eddystone Trust, supporting HIV and sexual health services across the South West.

Vanessa Matthews – Founder and Director of Sekhem Wellbeing. Vanessa is an accredited VTCT and CIBTAC qualified beautician and massage therapist and specialist in Zone Technique – an innovative healing modality which utilises the body’s innate healing ability.

Activities: 
Melanie Williams – Outreach Health Check Practitioner from Healthy Cornwall will be available to talk about the range of courses that they have available for business in Cornwall, and to offer attendees free blood pressure and body composition checks.

The team from the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre will be hosting a fun and interactive hoops challenge – with a trophy up for grabs! They are available to talk all things fitness and introduce you to the excellent gym and fitness options we have on site at Truro School.

Tonya Berrington – Will be running a chair yoga class,  perfect for beginners looking to increase flexibility, build strength, reduce stress, and improve posture.

We are suggesting an on-the-day cash donation of £5 pp to be shared amongst Man Down and Cornwall Pride. Please bring this with you in cash, we cannot accept card payments.

International Women’s Day Business Breakfast

Our most recent event celebrated International Women’s Day, shining a spotlight on the incredible women within our local community.

We were delighted to be joined by four inspiring speakers:

  • Julia Ward-Osseiran – A financial adviser with 30 years’ experience, passionate about empowering women to build financial confidence through knowledge and guidance.
  • Naabil Khan – A fifth-year medical student at the University of Exeter and healthcare advocate, best known for founding the website Skin For All.
  • Molly Scott Cato – Economist, author and long-standing Green Party spokesperson, with extensive experience in Brexit, finance and politics.
  • Jess Alderson – CEO and co-founder of So Syncd, the personality-based dating app recognised by Forbes as “the next big thing in dating”.

Guests also had the opportunity to create their own International Women’s Day keepsake with our Artist-in-Residence, Rachael Coward.
