The Heseltine Gallery presents Kate Cambridge – Trees & Memories

The Heseltine Gallery presents Kate Cambridge – Trees & Memories.

The Heseltine Gallery at Truro School is proud to present artist Kate Cambridge. The exhibition will be taking place Sunday 3rd August–Saturday 16th August 2025.

Kate, who is based in Cornwall, but grew up in London says “I’m a self-taught artist, always exploring new ways the elements outside can influence my work.  I collect and explore the deep connections between trees, memories and places.   I paint outdoors, often in my open-air studio – Whatever the weather, I paint, a cup of tea is never far away, and I work to the sound of my dog’s paws running on the grass in between bouts of music. I love each painting to tell the story, and each person seeing them, to just love it, without even knowing why.  That feeling of just letting the heart rule is magical, and that’s what I try to capture in every piece of art.”

Kate will be ringing her exhibition Trees & Memories to The Heseltine Gallery. On the exhibition, she explains “Much of my current work is part of a developing series called ‘Trees and Memories’, reflecting the universal human bond with trees: the ones we grew up besides, the ones we return to, the ones we planted in honour or grief.  I’m looking forward to exhibiting at the Heseltine Gallery and maybe hearing more tree memories from visitors.  The Heseltine Gallery is a beautiful space.  The first thing that captured my imagination was the inviting, gorgeous and grand stained-glass window.  It’s such a light-filled, airy space that instantly filled me with confidence that my work would fit.”

We look forward to welcoming Kate to the Heseltine Gallery and seeing her beautiful work.
