Celebration of 30 Years of Football and Friendship

Every Monday evening, the Ducks Walking Football group gathers at the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre for a friendly kickabout that combines fun, friendship and fitness.
The group has been playing together for an impressive 30 years, originally starting at Carn Brea before moving to the Truro School campus 20 years ago. They began their journey in the school’s former sports hall before making the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre their home when it opened in 2013.
Many of the current members have been friends and teammates throughout much of the group’s 30-year history, while new players have joined along the way, helping to keep the club thriving. As the team puts it: “We may not be the fastest footballers, but we enjoy getting together to play.”
The Ducks are just one of many long-standing community groups that regularly use the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre. The centre is proud to support local clubs and organisations, providing facilities for the community during evenings, weekends and school holidays.
